ABOUT
Hi, my name is Jared Mace and yes, I am a salesman. My entrepreneurial and sales skills started at a young age when I saw an opportunity and a need at my elementary school. With no vending machines, candy was in high demand. I went to the local Costco, bought bulk candy boxes and began selling them from my backpack. Within a short period of time, word of mouth got around and I needed help and more candy. I enlisted the help from some friends and opened up a snack stand at lunch. My sales itch began.
I sold raffle tickets door-to-door for layaway items to get to basketball tournaments. I sold fine cutlery (Cutco knives) to pay for school. While in my masters program, I joined the Miracle-Ear family after shadowing one day and watching this sweet grandma cry because she could hear her grandkids again.
I packed up and moved to Eugene, Oregon to take over an office with my front office assistant/adopted grandma (pic to the left). I was still in my masters while trying to find success in a new industry. I was broke, stressed out, and struggling. I had gotten into a rut and wasn't able to get out of it. Then things spiraled out of control when one day, I woke up feeling nauseous. I went to the bathroom and started vomiting blood. I ended up in the hospital for 2 days while they ran tests and figured out what happened. It was an eye opening experience that changed everything. I decided it was time for a change. I had a new mission in life.
From the moment I found out I was going to be ok, I decided that I was going to make a difference in my life. I was going to give back and help others on a greater level. In order to do that though, I had to first master my craft. I went ALL-IN and had a new conviction to succeed.
I read books and turned any free minute to learning time. I got a coach and I started going to seminars. It didn't take much time to see the fruits of those labors. I started climbing the ranks and being the top salesman of the month.
I had the opportunity to move to Portland which was one of the lowest performing stores and I quickly took it to one of the top performing stores. I broke the all-time monthly sales record and then was asked to start sharing and training others.
We have won awards and have able to travel around the world. I believe that you will back from life what you put into it. I also believe that if you help enough people get what they want, you will in turn get what you want.
Sales are sales no matter where you are or what you sell. Your product or service is there to solve a problem and the better you get at understanding your customers problems and solving them, the better you get at making money.
I also believe that the ability to sell and influence people is one of the most important, if not THE most important tool on your tool-belt. If you look at any successful individual, whether that is a business owner, a politician, a social activist, a great teacher, or a parent, they all had the ability to influence others and get them to buy into their vision, their beliefs, or their dreams.
Now I’m committed to impacting even more people. I get my biggest high twice a year when we get all of our employees together to train on mindset, sales, and they leave feeling inspired to make a change for the better.
I teach people how to pursue their dreams, how to influence others, and make a life that you're proud of. I do this through my youtube videos, books, online courses, live events, experiential workshops, and one-on-one interactions.
I’m so grateful where life has taken me this far and I am excited to see what the future holds. I believe we hold the pen and notebook and are the authors of our own life.
